Hall of Fame and Museum offers something for all music lovers, including gospel

This little gem, located just off Interstate 75 at Exit 62, is a wealth of information and displays chronicling the deep roots of the music industry in the Commonwealth. The Hall of Fame offers something for music lovers, regardless of genre.

Excellence in multiple genres has led to spot in Kentucky Music Hall of Fame

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. — If you are talking about Kentucky music, somewhere along the line you have to talk about Paul Martin.

If you know the history of the local rock music scene around Lexington, you have to know Paul from his days in Charlie’s Garage and The Bunch. You might even know about Ambush, a local band Paul joined while attending George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester.

Museum explores all Commonwealth’s roots in all genres

When Jessica Blankenship was named director of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame earlier this year, we knew this little gem just off I-75 at Renfro Valley was in for some changes.

Some big changes.  At least in getting the word out about what’s going on at the Hall of Fame.

Let’s just say if you haven’t heard about some of the goings on at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in the last few months, you haven’t been paying attention.

Rockland Road continues to bring joy through music whenever it can

WINCHESTER, Ky. — It had been far too long since I had seen Rockland Road in person.

So, when the group announced it would be playing in Winchester — a free show at that! — my wife and I circled Sept. 25 on our calendars and made sure nothing would keep us away. Rockland Road played the “Rock the Block” series on the steps of the Clark County Courthouse and, like every other time we have seen this enormously talented family, left no one disappointed.
