LAWRENCEBURG — Sand Spring Baptist Church has released the 2020 schedule for its popular Southern Gospel music series.
The schedule is a mix of groups which make regular visits and some making their first appearance at the church, which is located about 25 miles southwest of Lexington. The 2020 lineup kicks off on March 5, when the Old Time Preachers Quartet and Sand Spring newcomer Beyond Grace will be in concert. The series caps off with the annual New Year’s Eve concert with The Hoppers and Cumberland Thunder.
Triumphant Quartet, voted The Singing News’ favorite at the National Quartet Convention, returns for what has become an annual appearance with favorite His Heart on March 26. Also returning from 2019 are The Perrys, on June 11, and Greater Vision and The Jay Stone Singers on Nov. 12.

The Jay Stone Singers have become a favorite artist at Sand Spring. The group will return on Nov. 12, 2020 with Greater Vision.
The Hoppers also appeared at Sand Spring in 2019 while Jim & Melissa Brady were at the church on New Year’s Eve, 2018.
The Kingsmen, Gold City and local favorites The Noblemen and Victory Road Quartet have been at Sand Spring in recent years as well. Three Bridges, which will appear with Jim & Melissa Brady, was Sand Spring many years ago, according to gospel music ministry member Larry Briscoe.
Beyond Grace will be making its first appearance at Sand Spring when it shares the billing with The Old Time Preachers Quartet. Others presenting their first concerts at Sand Spring are The Guardians, Down East Boys and The Craguns.
Sand Spring has long been a favorite venue of many gospel groups and is known for large crowds which often fill the 900-seat auditorium. All Sand Spring concerts are free but a love offering will be received at each.
